Our Projects

Entrepreneurial Advancement
In the past, SSPP has  given out loans in the form of animals or fruits and vegetables. The entrepreneurial women have taken these loans to start viable businesses for themselves in the Acholi Quarters, thereby improving their standard of living and that of their families.

Group 1?

IMPROVING ACCESS TO WATER

Currently, all residents of the Acholi Quarters must rely on one intermittent source of water.  This means that the price of water fluctuates significantly throughout the day; when water is not flowing, it can reach up to ten times its purchased price.

Our project seeks to solve that problem in three stages:

1. Three women participating in the program will be given a water tank in the form of a loan.  The women will sell water in order to repay the loan.  After the loan has been repaid, another water tank will be purchased for the next person in the group.  This process will continue until each woman has a water tank.

2. After all women in the group have a water tank, they will be providing water to near 150 families.  Our next task will be to install a water tap so that we can serve more families in the future.

3. After we have provided loans, provided water tanks, and installed a water tap, SSPP will partner with local NGOs and MFIs to expand our water and sanitation projects.
