Microfinance Model

We give everyone a living wage. Trying to pay back a loan shouldn’t mean less food on the table, and fear shouldn’t keep people from fulfilling their dreams.

We give everyone a living wage.

Trying to pay back a loan shouldn’t mean less food on the table, and fear shouldn’t keep people from fulfilling their dreams.

Sometimes when women are trying to pay back microfinance loans, they use their savings, or they borrow money from friends or family.  It is also a fear of failure, fear of losing everything, and a fear of crushing debt that keeps many from ever attempting to start a business.  The women that make up SSPP each receive a small amount of money to live on, even when they are trying to get on their own two feet.

We don’t charge interest.

We aren’t trying to make money, just share it.

In reality, the money that we generate is because of the women.  They make the beads, they share their stories, and they are the successful entrepreneurs.  We know that if you would have wanted to make money, you would have invested it, not given it to us.  Re-paid loans are passed directly onto someone else, and the cycle continues.

Loans are repaid to others in the group and the women decide who gets to join.

Giving someone else the opportunity to succeed feels just as good as succeeding yourself.

The Women that make up SSPP work with us because they want to help themselves, their families, and their communities.  Loans are repaid because each person understands that others are counting on them.
